How I Became a Team Mom Genius

So, I am not really a “genius” but I do like efficiency and communication when dealing with things like team dinner sign ups, volunteer shifts at competitions, carpool arrangements for special events and all the coordination efforts that come along with being Team Mom.

High School Swim Season starts next week and it looks like I will be the Team Mom (especially since this is the third year I have had a student athlete on the team and I will have two student athletes on the team this year). As part of my duties, I will have to coordinate parent volunteers for team dinners and working the home meets. Luckily I have a great tool at hand – SignUpGenius – and you can use it for free, too!

SignUpGenius takes all the back and forth and craziness out of managing sign ups for anything! Here’s how it works:

I used SignUpGenius last season to coordinate team dinners and I literally had the first sign up sheet set up in 5 minutes, the invites went out and we had the whole season covered in a matter of days. Then when it was someone’s week to take care of the team dinner, they got an email reminder. Rather than everyone sending me their preferences and then having to de-conflict dates,  as people signed up through SignUpGenius they could see real time what dates were still available and what each family had opted to bring so there were no duplicate meals either! And I didn’t have to remind anyone it was their week!

Not only is the process simple for all involved, if you like your organizational efforts to look good and be efficient, Sign Up Genius  has 365 different form themes and allows you to upload your own images so you can customize your theme and really look like a genius to the rest of the team!

SignUpGenius wants to give you a chance to win an end-of-season prize package that will keep that excitement and passion alive until NEXT season. Enter to win your team an end-of-season party package including a pizza party, coach’s gift and player prizes! Click here for more details at the SignUpGenius site.

Be a genius this season! Register for free at SignUpGenius and create your first sign up in minutes!

Disclosure: I have been compensated for my time in sharing my personal experience with SignUpGenius, however, all opinions and experiences are my own.

Degree(r) First Team Tryout Giveaway

School is back in session and that means fall sports are in full swing.  Did your child try out for any sports at school this year?

My daughter did. She tried out for the high school cheer squad after making the decision to retire from competitive gymnastics. She made the Junior Varsity squad (Freshman are not allowed to be on the Varsity squad at her school) and is now experiencing sweat inducing moments like she has never experienced before! It’s one thing to compete on a balance beam 4 feet off the ground in front of a random audience, but it is another thing all together to be on top of that cheer stunt in front of hundreds of your classmates and the glare of the stadium lights in your eyes.

Thanks to a promotion we did last year with DegreeGirl, she no longer worries about the sweat part of her practices or games. She and my younger daughter ask for Degree deodorant specifically and they each keep a stick in every one of their gym bags/back packs.

We have been given the opportunity to work with Degree® again and have another great giveaway to share with you.

We will be giving one lucky reader this cool Puma duffle bag filled with…

Essentials for practice, home and away games!  Here’s what you’ll find in the Degree® deodorant first team tryout, first away game bag:

  • Puma duffle bag
  • Sony headphones
  • Sports water bottle
  • Degree® branded water bottle
  • Two Degree® deodorant sticks

The Degree® team sent us one of the giveaway sets to keep so we could give you our take on it. The Puma bag is very roomy and will easily hold training clothes, tennis shoes, snacks, headphones and portable electronics (there is even a special compartment for them) and water bottles with room to spare. The Sony headphones are sleek but cushioned and do a great job cancelling out unwanted noise so your athlete can get “in the zone” or just relax on that noisy bus. Two different water bottles will ensure your athlete always has essential fluids to drink. And of course, there are two sticks of the Degree Expert Protection Motion Sense deodorant – in Active Clean and Fresh Energy scents.

So, how do you win this gift set for yourself?

Required entry: Leave us a comment on this post telling us what sport your child plays, tried out for, or plans on trying out for.  How did the try out go and how is the season going so far?

Bonus entries: Get BONUS ENTRIES by letting your friends know about our giveaway. Get one extra entry for each of the following, but come back and leave a second comment telling us where you shared it:

  • Post about it on your own blog, in a forum, tweet about it or share it with your friends on Facebook
