I can’t believe the Olympics are finally here! I just love all the build up before the games and hearing all the stories of overcoming adversity, living out the dream, and acts of great sportsmanship that go hand in hand with the games. Since the games are going to be on the other side of the world, I won;t be relying on the TV to keep me posted on the latest stories and results - I will be tuned in online (and I will tivo what is on TV) for the next two weeks.
Here are some of the sites I will be visiting daily for updates, commentary, results and video:
NBCOlympics - This is the most comprehensive coverage site out there. I love that they are allowing you to watch training sessions live and then making them available afterwards too (the US Women will be live tonight in training)
ESPN - ESPN has a dedicated site for Olympic coverage with lots of great photos and commentary.
CBC - Get the Canadian view of the Games at CBC’s Olympic portal.
BBC - I always like BBC’s sports coverage - expect a unique viewpoint for the Games.
Light The Torch - LTT has a team of writers covering everything from the events to the stories around these Olympics and past Olympics.
Summ3r - Summ3r is a social bookmarking/article sharing service specific to the Olympics. It is a great place to find commentary and coverage outside of the major news outlets.
And since I am gymnastics obsessed, here are my favorite gymnastics outlets:
I’d love to add more resources for following the Olympics sport by sport! If you have a favorite, leave the link in the comments so I can add it here.
PS - If you need to get your Olympic gear, take 15% off no minimum at US Olympic Shop! Use Code LKS37NVV.
