The countdown to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Bejing is on and the US Women’s Gymnastics team is letting the world know they are ready! Congratulations to the US Womens Gymnastics team for their first place finish in the team competition at the 2007 World Championships held this week in Stuttgart, Germany.

Anyhow, in the last rotation all three US gymnasts, Shayla Worley, Shawn Johnson and Alicia Sacramone, all hit their floor routines to surpass China for the gold. Rounding out the team was Ivana Hong, Nastia Liukin, Samantha Peszek and Bridget Sloan (reserve).
Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin will compete in the women’s all-around finals on Friday, September 7th. In the individual event finals on September 8 and 9, Shawn Johnson will compete in the balance beam and floor exercise finals; Nastia Liukin will compete in both uneven bars and balance beam; and Alicia Sacramone in vault and floor exercise.
