Alexis Thompson Qualifies for US Open at Age 12

At a time when most twelve year olds are thinking of lazy days by the pool, sleeping in and enjoying summer vacation, Alexis Thompson of Coral Springs, Fla. is busy. She is busy getting ready for the Women’s U.S. Open as the event’s youngest qualifier ever. WOW!

While many will ooh and aah about how Alexis trains 7 hours a day and does school at home and online, she isn’t all that different from an elite gymnast, top level ice skater or other young super star. She comes from a golf family and started golfing when she was 5. And like other girls her age – she loves to shop and chatting with her friends online.

We will be cheering for you Alexis! Not only this coming week at the U.S. Open but as you get older and continue to leave your mark on the sport.
